About the Program
This popular course is an excellent way for program staff, administrators,
and boards of directors to gain a general understanding of what grants are
all about and the elements required for success. Equal attention is given to
the needs and interests of both your organization and grantmakers.
Participants receive Word and Excel templates to help them develop grant
proposals, and a certificate of completion is provided.

Topics include:
Understanding what's most important to grantmakers
Researching grants and approaching grantmakers prior to applying
Planning programs and projects before writing grants
Preparing information commonly asked for in grant applications
Building a grantseekers tool kit to help you save time

Paul Mastrodonato is President of Nonprofit Works Inc. He has spent the last
15 years working for and with nonprofit organizations, including eight years
as the executive director of the Rochester Landscape Technicians Program - a
job training and placement program for lower-income and unemployed men and
women. Paul holds a master's degree in public administration with a focus on
organizational management from SUNY Brockport.
In 1999, he established Nonprofit Works, a New York-based consulting firm
that specializes in courses, training and consulting for nonprofits and
municipalities in grantseeking, strategic planning, and board development.
Paul's presentation style is known for being informative, interactive,
relaxed, and fun.

This program is sponsored by the Pioneer Library System and the Rochester
Regional Library Council and supported by Regional Bibliographic and Data
Bases funds and/or by (or "in part by") Federal Library Services and
Technology Act (LSTA) funds awarded to the New York State Library by the
Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
